Trying something out here, discuss the possible answer, and once it's there I or someone else posts another one?

Looking at it from a logical perspective, I would have to say a combination of strong magic used by wil-o-wisps.
That or because they're full of helium.

But what makes the Helium float?

The fact that it's lighter than air?
I don't know, I blame god for trying.

Ok, but why do lighter than air things float?

Well a helium balloon isn't necessary warmer, hot air balloons are though. So there is a connection.

You told me that it is like with wood floating in water. I do not understand why wood floats in water though!

Helium is lighter than air and less dense than air. It is similar to why warm air rises, it is not as dense as cool air. This is why the comparison to wood is legitimate, wood isn't as dense as water making it buoyant.

If someone else wants to post a question, go ahead. If it's not up by tomorrow I'll probably have one to post (I am not good at coming up with questions).
