Well I've seen ppl doing stupid stuff, but this never included sabotaging their own income/food.
I know a lot of farmers in Poland, these ppl spend like all summer in the field, protecting it from any harm.
I really don't see people like that destroy their work for some hits on a local newspaper and some UFO sites.
If its man made, then its not made by the owner of the field, but by random ppl who live near it.

Well just a part of the field doesn't mean their income is totally destroyed or anything

If they can get it in a paper, then I'd think they would make a bit off it? Would it even out the cost of wasted crops? I dunno...

Okay sometimes they are made for art because they look great but most of the time it's people wanting attention that they do not deserve. But let's put one thing straight if aliens were so advanced then we'd all be dead by now!
