Today I came across this: http://myprops.org/content/The-human-ce ... tion/?ac=1It says that the human cell contains about 75MB of information But when I did some calculations of my own I came up with 20 times that number I read on wiki that a haploid (sperm or egg cell) has 3 billion base-pairs (AT, CG, TA or GC), so a diploid (normal cell) has 6 billion base pairs One base pair is 2bits of information so a cell has 12billion bits of information. 8 bits is one byte so we got 150000000 bytes and thats about 1,4 gig. EDIT: I saw some other sites using this info to calculate the data transfer of an ejaculation. So I'm gonna do that too. Since sperm is haploid one cell will contain about 700MB (that's like a CD o.o) According to wiki the average sperm count per ejaculation is between 50 million and 150 million. So 700*150000000 is about 97.8 petabytes of information during one ejaculation Since an average ejaculation lasts about 5 seconds we have 19.56 pentabytes/s Isn't math just awesome? Now you all know that you're little friend is faster the the fastest pc on earth! EDIT: Sorry girls you would be a lot slower since you only send 700MB a month (((((700/30)/24)/60)/60)/60) making that about 5 bytes/s

I wouldn't say dumber just slower. This has nothing to do with brains O.o I'm gonna try and make a formula for the amount of data that a human contains. One where you input weight and get an answer EDIT: A website told me that the human body has either 10, 50 or 100 trillion cells so I took the avrage: 5.33333333 × 10^13 One cell is about 10^-11kg the average weight of a male is 79.5 kg The human body is 60% water so 40% of the mass is pure (dry) cells. To compensate the mass we take 30% of the cell mass, and that's 3.0*10^-12 kg/cell So (Mass*0.4)/ 3.0*10^-12 = amount of cells (79.5*0.4)/ 3.0*10^-12 = 1.06 × 10^13 (80.12500% error so we will add this, /20*80=*4) 1 cell was 1.4 gigabytes so (((Mass*0.4)/ 3.0*10^-12) *4)*1.4 = amount of gig gig to exabyte is *9.3*10^-10 (((mass*0.4)/ (3.0*10^-12)) *4)*1.4)*(9.3*10^-10) = amount of data in exabytes In short: Data in exabytes = M*694.4

Maybe make a php script and put it on the site

Don't feel boring, look at it from the bright site, when you give birth the data transfer is much larger EDIT: I fixed it up: The human body is 60% water so 40% of the mass is pure (dry) cells. To compensate the mass we take 30% of the cell mass, and that's 3.0*10^-12 kg/cell and then multiply the whole with (10/3) So (((M*0.4)/ (3.0*10^-12)))*(10/3) (79.5*0.4)/ 3.0*10^-12 = 3.53*10^13 (33.7% error so we will add this; /67*100=*1.5) 1 cell was 1.4 gigabytes so (((((M*0.4)/ (3.0*10^-12)))*(10/3))*1.5)*1.4 = amount of gig gig to exabyte is *9.3*10^-10 (((((M*0.4)/ (3.0*10^-12)))*(10/3))*1.5)*1.4)*(9.3*10^-10) = amount of data in exabytes In short: D = M*868 To check this is checked the average numbers and came up with: ((((5+(1/3))*10^13)/79.5)*1.4)*(9.3*10^-10) = 873.46 D = M*873.46 That's 0.5% difference in total, making it a good formula IF the average weight and amount of human cells is correct. EDIT: I made a page that calculates your weight and compares it to mp3's, dvd's and blu-ray disks: http://www.parascientifica.com/humandata.phpIf you got a suggestion of a well known format that I should add, please tell me.

Yea, I'm thinking of something gigantic that I could use like 10thousand record stores xD RoadKill wrote: That page you made is really cool. Thanks Should I add the calculation, how I got to the formula or keep it as it is?

True, I need some big thing that takes a lot of space to compare it with tho. I was looking for worlds largest disk-space but couldn't find it o.o
