sounds like the Egyptians knew how to eat, but I suppose back then everyone was working or moving so they probably didn't gain much fat.

Yea, but I think that the food wasn't so unhealthy that it actually made them fat.

Back then people probably didn't care about what they were eating. I don't think that the healthy eating craze has made much of an effect on today's world either.

No in Egypt and Greece and Rome they took baths regularly.
It was after that that the ppl started to be less...civilised.

well, taking baths and hygene in general was not so common in germanic and celtic culture. actually it was seen as quite a luxury in roman times, built by and for the rich.
"barbarians" had a different perception of rich, with less fine fabric, rosepetals and spring water.
also a lot of bathhouses got destroyed and people no longer saw the nessesarity of hygiene.
