Festivals are an integral part of the Thai society. It is interesting to note that festivals are held to owe allegiance to the deity. There are festivals and events in Pattaya in almost every month. Some of the popular Festivals and Events in Pattaya are - * Pattaya Music Festival * Wan Lai Festival * Chonburi Province Annual Festival * Ancestral Spirits Ceremony Festival * Pattaya Marathon * Chonburi Buffalo Races * Chinese New Year The Pattaya Festival is held in the month of April to promote tourism. During this time, Miss Pattaya Beauty contest is held. Floral floats are seen in processions on Pattaya streets. Aquatic sport contests are also held. You can enjoy the sand castle construction contest too. Cultural programs and exhibitions are held while souvenirs are for sale too. There is a spectacular display of firecrackers on the beaches. The Pattaya Festivals and Events are closely related to the occupation of the people living here.
