use this site to find the meaning of your name(s): http://www.behindthename.com

I just looked up my names and got some interesting results.
My names are Alexander Gerard Michel.
Alexander means; defending/helping men.
Gerard means; brave with the spear
And Michel means; who resembles God.

So my name is: The defender of men, brave with spear, who resembles God.

And Id have to buy this book to know what my surname means, and I might soon.

First name means: small / humble. Middle is: shield. As for my last name, unknown...

So all I got is: humble person possessing a shield. Makes perfect sense.

^ I guess that puts the mystery in me. Though I'm sure it has a meaning, just isn't recorded (or long lost perhaps?).

My first name is Alexandria- Protector of mankind second name is Marie which I just found out means a sea of bitterness and I found this on my last name. It derives from "Dionysios" meaning "the divine one of Nysa", a reference to an early god, who was believed to be the protector of the vine. It is also said that Nysa was a mountain in the modern Afghanistan, where celebrations were held by the Greek army of Alexander, The Great.

Steven is the modern variant of stephen which comes from the greek stephanos meaning crown, Edward is rich or guard, and Hammond is from the old norse/german hamund meaning house protector or protector of home.

so crowned, rich , house protector if you will

Mine isn't even on there, only a dodgy spelling of it which says diminutive of Jennifer...how crappy. Middle name, Cherise, is of french origin but then I already knew that.

wtf my name doesnt origin from andrew... its the other way around -_-
and andreas comes from the greek "andreios" wich means "man, brave"
i know cos i got a book of the meanings of names myself

about my family name is nothing known
and i dont got 3 names like you guys >_<

edit:
@shinx cherise comes charissa wich comes from charis
which means elegance or grace

@ali johannes is hebrew name that comes from johanan "jahweh is merciful"

@mitochondria maria is just "bitterness, sad" it possible originated from hebrew name Mârâh
in the middle-ages there was a connection with the latin name mare which is compared with stella maris "star of the sea"
