This will become quite a long story so i apologise in advance.

This all happend on the lovely server of Genjuros, with some later involvement from Laughing Skull.

Characters involved, my priest and a warrior named Charger (he's not named like that anymore nor on either of those servers)

Charger was a succesfull dps warrior in a guild called original sin.
I met him when i was grinding myself to exalted to get the naxramas atunement.
He was farming something else in the plaguelands.
We met there a few times in a row before we started talking to each other.

When we started talking he seemed like an ok guy.
For some reason he appeared to be guildless one day so i asked if he'd like to join my guild.
He did.

By then i learned he was in an accident with his snowboard.
It dislocated a disc in his back and caused him to be in terrible pain and in a wheelchair.
I spend up many nights with him talking on vent reasuring him that everything would turn out okay.

There were nights when he fell asleep on his keyboard (or so he said).
There were nights when he nearly od'd on his meds (or so he said).

I even got his msn and phone number and adress.
Me being a dutch girl and him being a swedish guy from motala there was no real threat in giving those.
I got the phone number so i could call him to be awake for a raid.
I got the adress so i could send him a post card when my boyfriend and i went on vacation.

I realy liked him and started to see him as a good friend.
All the stories he told, the pain he was in, the love he had lost, seemed so real.
At times i'd wish i could go over to him and give him a nice big hug and tell him it was going to be okay.

Then blizzard anounced payed character transfer.
He mentioned once of twice that he was thinking about going back to his old server.
I let him know that he definately should do this if this is what he realy wanted.
Payed character Transfer came but Charger didn't leave the server.

That made me a happy bunny but not for long.

His behaviour changed...
He became more destructive.
Talking about drinking lots of alcohol and using too many meds.

Then one day in gchat he wrote.
Charger signing out life crits charger for 999999999999999999999999999999999999999
and he logged off.

About an hour later i checked my mail and found a mail written by charger, it went something like this:

Dear Oni,

By the time you read this it's allready to late i will allready be gone.
This life will no longer cause me any pain i will have moved on to a better place.

This completely freaked me out.
I imediately got in touch with another "good friend" of his on the server.
He also got a similar note.

We both tried calling him over and over but the phone was never answered.
The other friend texted a message to the phone also containing his email adress.

He got a mail that went something like this:

Dear robin,

I don't know who you are, you must have been one of alan's online friends.
He played online a lot and found great pleasure in doing so.
Sadly alan chose to take his own life, so please stop calling his phone for it will no longer be answered.
In the note he left behind he did thank his online friends for making life a little bit more bearable.

and it was signed with his sisters name.
Hell it was even send from a hotmail account with her first and last name.


I was getting questions left and right about where charger went, people heard rumors he killed himself.
Till i got the copy of the mail send to the other friend, i had no confirmation and did not wish to answer these questions, besides i was realy realy realy sad.

Then i got the copy of the send mail and decided to make a forum post on the Genjuros forum about his passing.
Genjuros being a realm opend to transfer too i decided to also make a post on the server he came from.

In that post the first few reactions were flaming me... flaming me ?!?
I read 'm carefull.

I was making a sick joke...
Charger didn't die, they have him now...

The assmunch didn't kill himself... he transfered to another freakin server ?!?
This lead to me posting all the details of what happend on his new server too.
Off course it wasn't me getting flamed after explaining what happend.

I made a new char on his new/old server and tracked him down.
He changed his name.. but i still found him.
I whispered him for an explanation.
I wanted to know why he did what he did.
I wanted to know why he let me cry my eyes out for a lie
but all i got was a /ignore

3 months later he left that server again because that was how long he had to wait before being able to transfer again.

His name on that server ?
I still find that the biggest joke of all.
He named himself Deo.

Deo is Latin for god... and i truly think he thaught he was god.
Pulling off a suicide like that.


In the end i found out that not only he did not kill himself, there were no pills and there was no wheelchair either.

I tracked down his sister, having her first and last name and a place of residence made it not too hard to do so, found her email adress and informed her as well.

No idea how it ended for him but i do hope they brought him to a mental institution.


I did learn my valuable lesson.
Don't ever trust anyone on the internet no matter how friendly they seem !!
